Joe Taylor – Director of Operations

Allegiance Color Guard Proudly Announces Joe Taylor as Director for the 2019 Season

Joe Taylor has been a volunteer and manager for the Allegiance organization since his daughter Katherine first joined Allegiance Cadets in the 2014 season. For the 2019 season, Joe will take the reigns as the Director of Operations for all Allegiance Teams and Director of Allegiance Open. While Joe was new to the WGI world when he first came to Allegiance, he actually had significant leadership experience with the Drum Corps International world.

Joe aged out of Phantom Regiment in 1991, volunteered on Phantom’s tour staff in 1992 and 1993, served as Tour Director in 1998 and 1999, and as Assistant Corps Director in 2000. Joe also served on Phantom Regiment’s Board of Directors from 1998-2000 and is currently on the board of the Phantom Regiment Alumni Association.

For the last 25 years, Joe has worked as a professional educator in the Northwest Suburbs. He began his career teaching English and History at Buffalo Grove High School and currently serves as Assistant Principal for STEAM Instruction at Deerfield High School. “Whether we are talking about the classroom, drum corps, or color guard, it has always been about providing opportunities for students to grow and achieve. In that way, my position at Allegiance is an extension of my position at the high school.”

Joe lives in Cary, Illinois with his wife, Nicole, daughter, Katherine, and black lab, Phantom. “I can’t wait for the 2019¬†season. I honestly love our Allegiance family and can’t wait to see our kids take the floor again.”
